VG Stars 11A3 and Melrose Predators 11A2 City Champions!
April 1st, 2009

Congratulations to the Valley Gardens Stars 11A3 and Melrose Predators 11A2,
two teams from River East Minor Hockey Association to win respective city
championships.

The Stars, the top 11A3 team in the city overall in league play, suffered a
surprise setback in their first game to Phoenix and then went undefeated
through a long and grueling B-side to earn a spot in the final series.

The Predators, meanwhile, cruised through the A-side playoffs and came up
against a tough Sir John Franklin. It went right down to the wire, with the
Preds claiming victory 3-2 in overtime of Game Three of the best-of-three
final.

Congratulations also to City Finalists, River East Royals Black 9A1.  The Royals Black 8A1 and Royals 13A1 fell one short of the finals finishing in third place.

Congratulations to all of our A Hockey Teams for a splendid year!  Have a great summer and we'll see you in the fall.
